Right - the builders have finished sealing the drive and, at last, we can go on it because it's dry.
I felt a little sorry for Charles who popped in with one of his staff, Dan I think, on their way to do a recce at Ford Castle before their residential visit next week. I think his plan was to stop in for a cuppa and possibly a light lunch and to show off Lily and Rose at the same time. Unfortunately this little plan didn't work, because the builders were still working on the drive and wouldn't let him walk on it. So he couldn't get into the house! (Try the coffee shop in Fram, Charles!)
Anyway, it seems dry enough now to let the girls back onto familiar poop territory. I've started to replace the plant pots that were strategically positioned next to the gate to block any Westie size gaps, but some of them are too heavy to lift on my own so I'll have to wait till Charles gets back.
The puppies are a bit quiet today. I don't think they've enjoyed being out of their play area. We've even had a couple of wees in the house this afternoon, which is not good news and must be attributed to their reluctance to go in the back garden. They're going to have to get used to other places to wee and poop, otherwise I can foresee some problems when they are eventually allowed to go out properly.
Well, I've got on reasonably well with my weekend preparations. Two lots of cakes are done, and the apple pie is cooling. Starters are finished and all the veg are ready. Just a bit more to do in the kitchen, then I need to sort beds out. When I think back to how I used to do all this AND go to work I honestly can't remember how I used to do it - but that was in the life before puppies - so I suppose it balances out really.
Lily has sneaked into one of the puppy beds and is dozing with Charles's slipper lace hanging out of her mouth, oh, and she's upside down. However Rose has other ideas and has decided that she is going to have the lace, which is a shame really because now Lily is awake and I have a feeling that the regular mad hour is about to kick off.
