Having thought about it, even though I really fancy risotto, there's no point just doing it for one, so I'll wait till the weekend when Charles is back.
Instead I might have poached eggs on toast, with maybe a little crispy bacon thrown in for good measure. This might sound a bit like breakfast, but sometimes it's nice to have breakfast stuff at teatime.
Talking of breakfast - has anyone else discovered the delights of Belle and Herb's - absolutely the best, albeit slightly bohemian, place to go for breakfast Don't ask me how to get to it, but it's in Heaton and we regularly go at the weekend for a real treat. You probably need to starve yourself for at least a day beforehand and certainly won't be able to eat for the rest of the day, but it is absolutely worth it. You can have traditional English, or American, Canadian, vegetarian, healthy - all in vast quantities. There can be few places I would rather go on a Sunday morning than Belle and Herbs. I love it!!
(Aaaargh! One of the pups has just let go a phenomenal fart. Excuse me while I type with one hand, cos the other is covering my nose! Ten to one it was Rose!!)
As far as buying the Daily Mail for the puppies to pee on (it's the only reason I WOULD buy it) I'll wait until tomorrow as I have just found an old Express that we had been keeping because it was the Bobby Robson tribute edition. Obviously I've taken out the relevant pages, but the puppies can have the rest!
It's getting really windy up here (and that's not just because of Rose!) and I hope that Charles and the kids are okay. If it's windy here it will be ten times worse on Holy Island! They HAVE managed to get to the Island, but need to be off it be 2.30 (just about now, in fact) so the Army Bomb team can dispose of the WW2 bomb that's been found there. Apparently if they go to Beal they can look across to the island and watch the explosion! The kids'll love it!
