And so is his washing!
Seriously, the puppies were beside themselves when they realised who was walking up the drive. He found it very difficult to put one foot in front of the other as he had a puppy on each - like fluffy white slippers!!
Talking of slippers - The puppies have missed out on these for a few days but have certainly made up for it since Charles returned. They've been quite content lying under the table, chewing away!
The slippers were, of course, attached to his feet. I would like to say that I was waiting at the door with them, along with his pipe, but he gave the pipe up donkey's years ago and anyway, I simply wasn't!
Have I talked to him non-stop about my week with the girls? have I bored him senseless with my ramblings about their escapades? No I haven't.
'Why on earth not?' you may ask.
Simply because the minute he got in, after saying hello to the puppies and then wearing them on his feet, he sat down and read all the posts from this blog since Monday. So I haven't needed to say a word!
Which is actually a bit frustrating!!!
