I went for the toast and marmite option in the end, thinking that I could always have the apricot danish with a coffee later on this afternoon - you know, at that time when your energy level drops and you need a sugar boost. That time for me always coincides with the puppies mad time so I think I can justify the calories!
The puppies are now well and truly awake and Rose is practicing her new barking skills! She's barked at the postman (postal worker), the bin men (refuse collectors - garden waste division), the big brush in the corner, anything that moves in fact. (Clearly this doesn't apply to the big brush in the corner which is currently keeping perfectly still, although it CAN move and does so with regular monotony as it sweeps away all evidence of puppy mess.)
Lily can only look on in awe and wonder at her big sisters amazing vocal talent! Meanwhile I dread the day that Lily finds HER bark as well!
The puppies had a really good sleep this morning and managed to completely miss out on the comings and goings of the tesco MAN. I even had time to get everything put away, had a cup of tea with the aforementioned toast and marmite and read the paper before they decided to get out of their pit!
I had to chuckle when I was getting their lunch ready. Christina had popped round and the puppies were really torn between playing with her and watching me sort their lunch out. When it is just myself and the pups they sit and wait perfectly patiently until I put the bowls down. But today was a bit of a trial and I have to say they played the game brilliantly! Every time I looked down at them they were sitting beautifully looking me straight in the eyes, but the next time I looked they MAY have still been sitting, but they were definitely nearer to Christina AND still looking at me innocently. In the end they ended up right next to her - and I never saw them move once!!!
