...I've just done my nails!
Not the best timing because the puppies have both decided they're ready for a cuddle! It's funny how they both seem to have the same idea at the same time, or more likely, one does something and the other doesn't want to miss out.
It's particularly noticeable when it comes to cuddles and tummy rubs.
LILY IS ALWAYS FIRST FOR A CUDDLE! She never misses an opportunity to get up on someone's knee and will snuggle right up into your neck throwing in a little bit of ear nibbling to show that affection isn't just one way!
Rose does love cuddles, but tends to wait to be invited. (She has just proved me totally wrong, however, by scrabbling at my leg to be picked up, and when that didn't get a response she tried in vain to jump up! In the end, after she had sat quietly for a minute, I picked her up and we've just had a lovely cuddle - until Lily noticed!
Lily has got to learn that she doesn't have the monopoly on cuddles and that her sister is entitled to just as much affection as SHE is!
TUMMY RUBS ARE BLISS! Well that's what Lily and Rose think anyway. They will lie there for ages, totally relaxed and obviously in puppy heaven!
There, we've finished the cuddles (with the nail varnish unsmeared!) and now the pups are at the patio door where something has attracted their attention. Lily is patrolling the door and giving little growly barks every now and again. Rose is hanging back a little as she usually does. She lets Lily see what's going on first - and if it's okay with Lily, Rose gets stuck in too.
Okay! Whatever it was must have gone now because I've opened the door and both puppies are lying dozily on their tummies, with their chins hanging over the thresh.
AARGH! NOW I KNOW WHY!!!
THE PHANTOM PUPPY FARTERS ARE BACK!
Oh girls, this is REALLY BAD! No wonder you've left your bottoms inside the house and stuck your noses in the fresh air!
I just wish you'd warned ME!!
'Scuse me - must get the air freshener and a peg for my nose!
( Or I could always invest in some of those anti-swine flu face masks.)
