...to be able to take the puppies out!
They have their next injection next Tuesday and then we have to wait another ten days, but after that we will be able to go out properly. By my reckoning that will be about 16th October. (When is the October half term holiday? At one time I would have known this and the date would be in my diary, underlined frantically in red!)
I'm thinking about the holiday, because it will be very helpful to be taking the puppies out with Charles so that, to begin with, we can walk one pup each. (We still get into an awful tangle with two leads and two puppies who are each determined to go their own way!)
I think I'm feeling a bit housebound this morning. Not that I want to go anywhere in particular, but it would just be nice to get out for a while. I could pop down to Heighley Gate later I suppose, but I will only do that when I know the puppies are settled for their long afternoon sleep. I must get them to realise that they have to cope on their own at times. I do know this, but I also know how much they wind each other up when they're unhappy, so try to avoid it as much as possible. On the other hand, I hope I'm not making a rod for my own back!
Heighley Gate has a really good pet department and I could be there and back within an hour AND have time for a coffee. So that might be my treat for this afternoon.
Charles won't be home until late tonight because he's off to the match. If kick off is 7.45 I reckon he won't get back until 10.00 at the earliest. He has been warned to tiptoe into the house to avoid waking the puppies who will have settled for the night by then. In fact, I won't want them to even open an eye and catch sight of him at all otherwise mayhem will break out!
They get really excited when they know that Charles is home - and cry in the morning when he's leaving! The crying doesn't last long though and they can quickly be distracted from their place by the patio doors.
Talking of the patio doors - I DID clean them this morning, but really don't know why I bothered because they are as bad as ever already! Two little pups scrabbling to get inside aren't conducive to clean windows!
