... that, when I put the puppies in their crate for their 8 o'clock sleep, the one remaining chewy bone was also in there.
Rose, unusually for her, didn't notice and went straight to sleep; Lily, on the other hand, has continued to chew on it right through the usual sleep time. Rose, who usually keeps a watchful eve on everything that's going on, even when she's asleep, has just woken up and realised her mistake! She is glaring at Lily, who is in chewing oblivion, but who is about to get a rude reminder any minute now that she has cheated Rose out of her share of the chewy delight. (personally I hate these things, (not that I chew them myself you understand), I just hate it when they go all soft and soggy and slimy)
Anyway, now we'll have an interesting scenario: a) Rose will need to separate Lily from the chew, thus gaining it for herself, b) Lily has missed out on her sleep and will be grumpy and tired, c) Rose, who HAS had a sleep will NOT be tired and will proceed to annoy Lily, who will be needing to catch up on her zzzzs, d) the usual sleep pattern where the puppies always go to bed at the same time, thus giving ME a bit of time to get on with STUFF, will now probably go out of the window!
Five minutes later:
As predicted - Rose now has the chew and Lily doesn't know where to put herself because she's too tired!
