Sad I know, but now that I know the result I can enjoy watching the game. It's good to know that we are top of the league, even if it is the wrong one!
The puppies have been settled for a while now. They've been absolutely lovely today and we spent the hour before their bedtime playing games with their new toys on the kitchen floor.
Just as I was writing this Christina came through to say she was going home. She had been warned to whisper as the puppies were asleep - and in fairness she did - but with their acute hearing they still heard her and are currently sitting bolt upright looking anything but sleepy! I have shooed Christina out in the hope that they might settle again but Rose is now busy pestering Lily, who DOES seem to want to go back to sleep and absolutely does NOT want to have her back leg chewed.
So Rose is now in the forbidden living room on Charles knee (well to be honest she's lying across his stomach) and hopefully little Lily will get back to sleep undisturbed.
However, Lily is now farting in her drowsy stupor and the smell is so awful that she will either be woken by the shock of the stink or else she will be gassed senseless. I'm guessing it'll be the latter and that I'll probably suffer the same fate. In fact I think I'll just go outside for some fresh air as there's a limit to how long I can hold my breath!
Back again! Still smells evil in here, but have brought Rose in with me and she appears to have succumbed to the foul fumes too and is once more asleep.
So as I was saying, maybe I'll go and watch the match again or, on the other hand, maybe I'll wait till tomorrow and just turn in myself. I always hate going to bed when I've had my hair done, because I'm such a restless sleeper that it always looks like a haystack in the morning. I do try to lie flat on my face so I don't disturb it, but that way lies suffocation and that is not a good thing. (although it would be an attractive alternative to the slow death I'm suffering from the fart fumes in here!)
You will recall (or maybe you won't) that the agreement was that I got up to do the early shift this morning and Charles was going to do the same tomorrow. However, he is considering driving to Birmingham to look at a car and will not only be getting up early but leaving the house too, so I'll STILL need to be up to be with the pups. He may, of course, change his mind in the cold light of day. It is, after all, a long way to drive there and back in the day - especially if the car, a mercedes estate, turns out to be rubbish.
Which reminds me of a friend at college who went to school with a boy whose father was a turnip farmer and drove a mercedes. (Thinking about it, he must have farmed more than turnips, because I can't imagine the return on turnips is great enough to afford a mercedes - but who knows? well turnip farmers obviously...) Anyway this boy's nickname at school was...
wait for it...

We are going to Brum later today (Sun). Richardx
