We've just had a visit from our next door neighbour. She stood and talked to the puppies, who madly tried to fit their little bodies through the gaps in the picket fence to get to her. Their tails were going crazy, even when her Jack Russell (Edward VI) came to see them as well. I used to think he was quite a small dog, but when you put him near to Lily and Rose he seems huge. Obviously he wasn't allowed to get too close because they haven't been fully vaccinated yet. They certainly didn't shy away from him, so all this bodes well for this evening.
As far as I can remember our next door neighbour has had Jack Russells - and they all seem to have been called Edward, although I vaguely remember a George some years ago.
Anyway we had a bit of a chat and she told me she had a tummy bug and she hoped it would clear up before she went on holiday on Monday and I thought, 'WELL WHAT ARE YOU DOING ROUND HERE THEN. KEEP YOUR GERMS TO YOURSELF!'
Charles is going to try and get home early this evening because, as well as the puppy party that starts at 6.30, we are going to go shopping to get supplies in for our weekend visitors. To make this a truly time effective mission, and knowing that Charles will be stuck in the car with the puppies while I race around the supermarket, I have written the shopping list in SHOP ORDER (clever eh?), so that I can be as quick and efficient as possible. To tell the truth, though, I don't know why I don't just shop online. It would be so much easier and I do use Tesco from time to time, but I think I've got out of the habit of it. I suppose though that if I started doing that, it would mean that I never got out of the house, and I might start going stir crazy if that happened!
Not that I'm feeling like that yet - mainly because I barely have time to catch breath thanks to Lily and Rose - but I can imagine that in a few weeks I might just regard a trip to Morrisons as the highlight of the week!!
I suppose I am going to have to leave the pups at some time, otherwise they are going to react badly when I do have to go out. I still make them wait until I am ready for them, and I don't stay within sight all the time, but I am always there or thereabout so they haven't had to cope on their own yet.
Also this evening, James is coming round with the lovely Kate to see the puppies! (And hopefully to eat cakes!)
