Well, I'm not sure what has happened to our usual routine, but it sure ain't happening today!
Clearly the interrupted sleep earlier this morning is being paid back now, because I have sleepy little puppies again. They're actually lying side by side today which is unusual as they normally like their own space when they're asleep.
I've just been across the road to our daughter, Christina's house. She is recovering from a nasty fall from a quad bike at the weekend and is black and blue. I think she was reluctant to tell me about it because she knows how I feel about these 'toys' so the first I heard about it was this morning. Anyway, she has been to the hospital and has some medication to help heal the inside of her mouth which she bit through. She also has a black eye. She does look shocking and it will be quite a while before she is back to her usual beautiful self. In my opinion she is lucky to have escaped without breaking anything. She will be coming round in a while for a coffee - I wonder if I should give her a straw!
Why do bad things always happen when Charles is away?
Talking of Charles, he rang this morning to say that all the kids had settled last night at a reasonably early hour and that they were off to Holy island today. This was literally minutes before the item on the local news which stated that the Army Bomb Disposal Unit would be on the island today detonating an unexploded bomb and consequently the causeway will be closed for part of the day. Oh dear! I rang him straight back to let him know that they may have to change today's itinerary. needless to say he wasn't happy.
