I've been sitting here for ages now, just watching the puppies on the step. They've been absolutely motionless, sitting up alert and upright and appear to be acutely aware of something that I can neither hear nor see.
The strangest thing is that normally when I open the door, they leap straight in (or scrabble in Rose's case) but this time they didn't move! Even when I called to them, they didn't change their position. Nor did they move when it began to pour with rain.
I lifted them in in the end, and even then, Lily dashed straight back out again! (Yes! Lily! For those of you who don't actually know the pups - Lily usually takes a fair bit of coaxing to go outside at all, so this was particularly peculiar!)
I still don't know what it was, but even now, Lily is wanting to be outside. Not like her at all!

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!
