As allegedly blondes have more of it!
And now that I am very definitely a strawberry blonde I'm waiting in excited anticipation!!!
I have to say though, that there hasn't been a lot of it yet!
Anyway, what you're really interested in is - How did Charles cope with the puppies this morning? or even Did he cope at all?
And the honest answer from Charles himself was that it had been...
...FAB!
When I got home, after an absence of four hours, I found two contented little pups and Charles looking very pleased with himself and telling me all about their intensive training routine, all the details about their poops and feed and how long they had slept! They had been lovely apparently, with only one slight blip (which I could have predicted and should have included in my 'Things you need to know' list.) - Lily DOES fit under the fence in the back garden! A trifle foolishly Charles took the girls out into the back garden without their leads. This is not recommended, and I'm sure Charles appreciates why now. There are far too many hiding places for little puppies and, when they're off the lead they are guaranteed to go off in different directions necessitating some nifty catching techniques in order to bring them back into line. Sometimes. of course, it is good to learn from mistakes and fortunately there were no serious consequences to this little mishap!
So, the puppies are very happy and Charles is annoyingly smug!
I had a lovely few hours respite. First off I did a bit of shopping. I got some new toys for the pups and some more training treats. Then treated myself to a new pair of jeans - nothing expensive, just from Dorothy Perkins because we don't have many trendy shops in Morpeth. I could have gone to Rutherfords of course but a) I would have had to pay a small fortune for something that I only want to wear when I'm looking after the dogs and b) they would probably have had an elasticated waist which I would draw the line at even if only the puppies were going to see them. Anyway, I got a pair of very nice 'skinny' jeans for £15 which can't be bad.
After a quick look round the shops, I met James in Costa and in walked Adam, one of James's best friends who has recently left the North East to go and work in London. He was doing a surprise trip home and James had no idea he was coming up, so that was really nice.
Then we both went to SAKs. James's hair looks really smart and mine looks really blonde. he was finished long before me, and I had to listen to all the girls in SAKs telling me what a gorgeous boy James is!! (I KNOW HE'S GORGEOUS! I'M HIS MOTHER SO I AM WELL AWARE OF THIS! AND DON'T GET ANY IDEAS BECAUSE HE'S GOT A VERY NICE GIRLFRIEND. GET DOWN GIRLS, FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!)
