The puppies have been asleep for about an hour now and are just getting to that stage where they are almost ready to wake up, but want a bit more of a lie in.
This is when they do the YAWN, STAGGER AND FLOP ROUTINE.
A sleepy yawn, followed by a bit of a shuffly stagger to another part of the crate and then an exhausted flop down again is all part of the waking ritual.
Rose is a bit ahead of Lily in this today - but then she often is; I think Lily would happily sleep all day if we left her to it. Rose has just had a little look round to see where Lily is, has registered that she is still asleep so that's okay because it means she's not getting up to any fun on her own, has flopped down again and is now making those funny little yipping noises in her sleep. Lily remains totally oblivious!
Good! I'll get the kettle on. I might just get another five minutes before we race outside for pees and poops.
(Just thinking - if you had three puppies you could call them Yawn, Stagger and Flop couldn't you? Which is better than the names Paul told us about: some well known author (well not that well known because I've completely forgotten who it was!) called his puppies 'Piddle' and 'Puke'. At least I THINK that's what Paul said!
We could have called our two - 'Poop' and 'Pee' I suppose.
