The puppies are asleep!
Admittedly Rose has her nose up Lily's bottom, which may not be wise as it is not the cleanest bottom I have ever seen, but despite that she is sleeping - and so is Lily.
It's actually quite a long shift with the pups when you consider that it starts at just gone 6.00 and usually finishes at about 10.00. I must admit to feeling pretty tired and irritable myself this evening, especially when considering the question, 'How does Charles always end up in the living room watching telly, while I'm stuck in the breakfast room preventing the puppies from beating each other up?'
I also started thinking about those people who think that giving a puppy as a present for Christmas is a really cute idea. IT IS NOT. IT IS A REALLY BAD IDEA. IN FACT, I CANNOT THINK OF A WORSE TIME TO HAVE A TINY PUPPY IN THE HOUSE.
Until you've had one (or two in our case) you really cannot imagine how time consuming puppies are. I'm in the extremely fortunate position of being able to devote all my time to their care, but most people are not so lucky. I think the stress of having a new puppy in the house, combined with the strain of the Christmas period would just be intolerable, for the puppy AND the family. So my advice, if you ARE thinking about a puppy for Christmas is DON'T DO IT! (Have turkey instead!!! Ha Ha!)
