I am absolutely no good at it at all!
I've even tried ringing Matthew, the salesman at Bristol Street Motors, to see if I can go sooner, but he's with a customer, so I'll just have to wait until 4.00 as agreed.
Matthew is well known to us as he is a good friend of James. He is, however, the biggest wind up merchant going, added to which he has a background in drama, and will assume all sorts of different personas when he phones people up, so, although you suspect it MIGHT be Matthew, you're never quite sure.
When I was still a working person, and we were expecting Ofsted at any moment, my biggest fear was that Matthew would ring school posing as an inspector. This had been threatened as a bit of a jolly jape you understand. Actually, I suppose my biggest fear was in fact that the GENUINE inspector would ring up and I would think it was Matthew, which could potentially have got me into all sorts of trouble. "Hello Mrs Ellis, this is Ofsted. We're coming to inspect your school next....." "Oh ****** off Matthew, you can't fool me." You can imagine the rest.
Anyway, I was going for payback this afternoon and hoped to be able to speak to him to tell him that I was very sorry to inconvenience him, but I'd changed my mind about the mini. But, as I didn't get a chance to speak to him, I couldn't. Childish I know, but it would serve him right!
