Well, wouldn't you know it. They might have been little ******s last night when they were up WAY past their bedtime, but the puppies are certainly making up for it this morning by having a long lie in after their breakfast.
And while they're happily dreaming away, I'm running around catching up on the cleaning and ironing, so that all I have to do, when they can be bothered to get up, is play with them!
I've been re-reading my essential guide to 'The Perfect Puppy' and, apparently Lily and Rose are just about to enter the juvenile phase of their development which lasts for the next three months until we get to the dreaded adolesence, which can last as long as another year!
During this juvenile phase, owners need to concentrate on teaching good manners and obedience, and then be prepared for all their hard work to go out of the window when the pups become teenagers. (Not so different from our own offspring then, although, in fairness, I can't really remember Christina and James being particularly horrendous as adolescents.)
For the next few months the puppies will, allegedly, 'really want to please their owners', so that'll be nice!

I was an angel - ask Charles
