I've decided to get a safety gate to place between the kitchen and breakfast room so that we can confine the puppies to a safe area when I'm cooking or ironing. If they stay in the breakfast room I can leave the patio doors open so that they have access outside all the time, but don't then run inside and chase through the kitchen oblivious to all the potential dangers. I'm terrified of tripping over them and spilling something hot on them, or forgetting that the iron's on and having them pull on the cable with disastrous results and I'm sure that a gate will make things easier and safer for all of us.
I'm sitting by the window watching the puppies playing outside in the rain. There are two workmen on the roof of the house opposite, (You know the one where the couple who do everything together live. They've really made me chuckle this morning because they've been in and out checking on the progress of their roof, always together. It must go something like, 'Right Pet, I'll just go and check on the workmen?' 'Yes Dear, I'll come with you.' 'Of course you will Pet, I wouldn't expect anything else.' 'Righto then off we go. Left, right, left, right...') and the puppies are fascinated by this. The sight of two men walking along a roof has had them totally perplexed and is clearly beyond all puppy comprehension. After all, THEY'VE only mastered the front step!!
