WALKIES

Okay, we've discovered that going for a walk doesn't have the same appeal for both the puppies. Lily, who is a little monkey most of the time, walks brilliantly on her lead and trots along beside us happily. Rose, on the other hand HATES walkies! I tried to take her this morning and she just sat down on the pavement and refused to budge. When I went to her, she was trembling, so I don't know if something has frightened her on one of our previous walks, but she wasn't going anywhere today. Clearly there was no point making an issue of it, but I hope she gets over whatever it is quickly.
Charles has just rung. He's supposed to be on his way to Preston, but isn't having much luck so far. He's ended up having to go into Newcastle to get his exhaust fixed and, on the way, needed to fill up with diesel, only to find that the service station was closed!! I suggested that he comes home and tries again tomorrow, but I think he's going to try to get there today if he can.
In the meantime, I'm doing a bit of baking ready for our visitors on Wednesday - and the puppies are being very co-operative so far! I'm going to have a go at a new chocolate torte recipe which seems very simple but looks yummy in the picture!
