It's just gone 9 o'clock and the puppies are starting to wind down for the night. We've had a lovely evening with them - they've had one or two little scraps, but the usual really crazy time hasn't happened at all today. I think that might be due to the fact that I decided to take them for a walk in the late afternoon and it left them feeling really tired and used up a lot of the energy that they usually use during their mad hour.
They're settling down while I write and put themselves into their crate as soon as I mentioned 'bed time'.
On the housetraining front - which I haven't mentioned at all today - Rose gets 10/10 for not having any accidents at all for the last four days. Lily has had one completely successful day and on each of the other days has had one accident - but there have been extenuating circumstances on each of these occasions. Today she managed brilliantly until we foolishly let her walk through to the living room. She isn't normally allowed to do tis and I think the excitement was too much, resulting in a little puddle. But, all in all, I'm really pleased and think that the approach we are using is beginning to show results.
Once they've settled I might just have to try one of the chocolate mousses I've made for tomorrow. They still need some cream and decoration before they're properly ready, but I've added Tia Maria to my usual recipe to give them a mocca flavour and I couldn't possibly take them round to the Girls' Soiree unless I was sure they were edible!
(Rose is snoring now, so time for me to leave them to it!)
