LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

MONDAY AGAIN

And again we had barking in the night, at just about the same time as the previous night. I can only assume that it is a cat doing it's rounds and the girls are being disturbed by it. They settled quickly enough, although I again ended up reading till about 3am and having a cup of tea in bed!
I'm going to persevere a bit longer without the big crate. If this continues though, IT WILL BE BACK!
I DID think I could solve the problem by simply drawing the curtains in the puppies room. We haven't done this before, but after the first disturbed night it seemed like a good idea. However, when I came to do just that I noticed with horror that the very heavy curtains (obviously we've put the 'winter' curtains up now!) appear to be too much for the curtain pole and are pulling it away from the wall. I DID point this out to Charles, who really didn't want to know and paled visibly when he came through to investigate. In all honesty, DIY and Charles do not get on! (I always find this a bit odd as his Mum had a hardware business when he was younger and I would have expected him to grow up with at least the basics in terms of household repairs - but no, he avoids such matters at all costs, unless he really has no alternative and then he approaches the task in a manner which usually means I stay well out of the way!)
Anyway, looking at the state of the curtain pole and the jaunty angle at which it is now hanging, I'll be surprised if it lasts the day!
