NEARLY HAD AN ACCIDENT
Well, the puppies nearly had an accident a little while ago, when our neighbour decided to come and say, 'Hello.' She brought her dog Edward V1 round to show me the dressing on his poorly foot. (He had a thorn in it, this got infected and it ended up costing £250 to get it sorted.) The dressing is protected by a sort of plastic wrapper, but it's quite heavy duty, a bit like having his paw wrapped in a coke bottle, so it makes a loud tapping sound when he walks. Clearly the combination of Eddie AND the fact that he had suddenly turned into Peg Leg Pete, was too much for my girls, who threw themselves at the fence with abandon and then made the big mistake of trying to jump on top of the elephant crate to get a better look at this curiosity. Unfortunately, they were a bit too enthusiastic, or they don't know their own strength, because what they actually managed to do was to pull the crate over on top of themselves, resulting in lots of loud and anguished yelping. Neither of them was actually hurt, although you would never have known it judging from their cries, but they certainly got a nasty shock. (And so did I!!)
