Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

SPOOKED PUPS

The girls really don't like change!
When Charles came in last night (admittedly at 8pm, so he WAS tired) the first thing he had to do was to remove the curtains and the pole from the puppies room. The pole had come very loose and was just about hanging off the wall, so it needed to be removed before they settled for the night because it would probably have collapsed in the night, resulting in traumatised puppies.
Once he'd got the right specs on, it was relatively straightforward, although there is a screw missing and we've got to hope that it isn't inside one of the girls.
However, when you take curtains down it not only alters the light in the room but the acoustics as well - and the girls were not happy with this at all. It took ages to get them settled and, in the end, the only way we did it was by putting both of them into the elephant crate and locking them in for the night. I think the fact that they were in a really secure area AND in close proximity to each other, helped them to settle better and they managed to get through the night without the disturbance of the previous two nights.
I'm not sure what to do about the curtains. They are only a few weeks old, but VERY heavy, so we might need to be looking for some lighter ones, once Charles has replaced the pole.
This morning I'm expecting the fireplace to be delivered, and have just had a call to say it will be here by 10.00. This is good, because it leaves the rest of the day to go out and do stuff.
