I really appreciate your helpful hints and tips regarding the barking issue.
I'm not altogether convinced by the water gun type thing, but if you say it works, I'll give it a go, but will limit it to outdoor barking only!
I've been using the distraction technique this morning. This was put to the test when there was an almighty clattering noise from somewhere round the corner which upset the pups enormously, but I managed to reduce what would usually be frantic barking to rather pathetic whimpering, which was a definite improvement. As with anything though, only time and consistency will tell.
Actually the puppies are having another of their very sleepy mornings. We've been out for a little while so they slept in the car, but we hadn't been home half an hour before they decided they needed to catch a few more zzzzs.
So, I'm going to take advantage of the fact that they are both splarred out, legs akimbo, and going through to the sitting room to, well, SIT!
