It's bitterly cold today - but a beautiful morning. I can say that quite happily without having to worry about de-icing the car and tentatively driving along the A697 to work. At one time I wouldn't have appreciated a morning like this - but now I can really enjoy it.
The cold doesn't seem to bother the puppies one bit! As you may recall, I had considered getting little fleeces for them, but apparently it's better to let their natural coats acclimatise to the weather and the natural oils need to cope with their coat being wet, so their fleeces can wait for a while. And, as my brother-in-law pointed out, they were bred in the Highlands and used to be put to work in all sorts of harsh conditions, so I'm sure they'll manage without being too wrapped up!!
We've got another day at home today. We can't go anywhere because we're expecting a few deliveries - all stuff for Christmas you understand. However, last night I did order a special treat for myself (but one which will undoubtedly benefit the rest of the family and any visitors we may have). My food processor has recently died on me, so I've ordered the new Kenwood Chef Titanium which looks a bit of a beast, but is neat enough to sit on the worktop without taking up too much space. I can't wait for it to arrive, although I think I have to wait about a week for delivery. (It should be here before Richard and Grandma come up though, so hopefully I can use it to make some goodies for them!)

My mistake. Forgot it was December. Conveniently. Interesting that you went for Kenwood. Was that your last processor? I've had (and inherited in the divorce) the same magimix for nearly 30 years and its industrial motor is as smooth and as powerful as ever. The casing is showing signs of wear and tear and the bowls don't last that long (they tend to get stress fractures due to the time spent dishwasher) but boy that motor is wonderful. If I didn't know it was French I'd swear it was made by BMW :o)
