LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

SUNDAY MORNING

And there's a lovely rib of beef waiting to go in the oven!! Yum yum!! Nothing says 'Sunday' quite like roast beef and Yorkshire puds!
For pud we are having a number of experimental  desserts that hopefully will make a further appearance over Christmas (not these exact ones obviously!) We're going to try the chocolate orange terrine, a white chocolate and raspberry mousse and lemon possett with orange shortbread. (There is also an apple pie because everyone who comes for lunch has come to expect one!!!) This probably sounds a bit excessive, but taster portions will be the order of the day - and only if people want to be piglets will they have a full bowlful!
We're expecting Richard, Sarah and Grandma to arrive about midday, so lunch will probably be at about 1ish. James will join us for lunch, before heading to the Anglers Arms for the football team Christmas bash. Actually, he's suffering with 'man flu' at the moment, so he probably wont enjoy either very much!
The puppies are looking stunning this morning, following their beauty session last night. It was so much easier to put them both in the bath together and completely stopped them fretting for each other. They almost seemed to enjoy the blow dry and both fluffed up beautifully! (Of course, by the time they've been for a walk down Villa Lane later, we might as well not have bothered!)
Following much pressure from Charles, I agreed to put up the tree yesterday. I think he wanted it up to make the house seem really festive for his family, although I would have preferred to leave it until next week. I'm not one of those who has lots of decorations, nor do I like them around for too long. In fact once New Year's Day is out of the way I'm usually itching to get them put away. Anyway - it's up and decorated and it looks very nice!
Right, I'm off to sort out the lunch.
Be back later!
