LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

CHEESE SCONES...

... are very nice, aren't they?
I only mention this because, as you know, the pups and I have been to Morpeth this morning (along with all the other old people! YES I DO KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING, BUT IT'S HOW I FEEL TODAY!).
While walking through the new arcade I had that dilemma which inevitably overcomes me when I'm shopping - ie Where should I go for coffee. Not you'll notice, 'SHOULD I go for coffee', but the assumption is that I WILL indeed end up going somewhere. So, was it going to be Costa, or the new chocolate shop, or the coffee place in the arcade or - and this is where it became a matter of great urgency - was I going to go to Marks and Spencers for a coffee and one of their VERY NICE CHEESE SCONES?
Once I'd thought about the cheese scones, there was no alternative. I had decided that I would ask them to pop one into the microwave for a few seconds so that it would be lovely and warm and the butter would melt into it...
Only just in front of me was what looked like a school outing and it was evident that it would take the rest of the day just to serve them, plus they would probably have eaten all the cheese scones anyway...
... so reluctantly I returned to the car and headed home, feeling disappointed, hungry, but a little bit smug because I hadn't given in to temptation!
However, on the way home, the fixation with cheese scones would not go away and I decided that I could mix up a batch and they could be baking in the time that I was putting the shopping away. Which is exactly what I did!!
And, anyway, they don't class as cakes or biscuits do they?
AND I made my cappuccino with skimmed milk, so I'm sure one won't do any harm!
