Wow! I take back all threats of putting them up for adoption, because the puppies were fabulous yesterday. They even slept right through from just gone 7pm, so I can't complain about that, can I?
Unfortunately, we've woken up to more snow today. Nothing significant, but wet and slippy and a nuisance. The puppies have jumped on top of their little house and are having great difficulty staying there because it's so slippery! They can't understand why they keep falling off!
Well Charles got to London without mishap and was going out with Paul for a Chinese meal last night. He'll probably ring soon, if he's got time before breakfast!
James is going to come up to check on his old mum again tonight! We had a lovely time yesterday looking at possible hotels for when we go to New York for a mini-break at Easter. Yes, it's the first I've mentioned it on here, mostly because I'm still getting my head round the fact that I'll have to leave Lily and Rose for four days. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to go back to NY. We absolutely fell in love with it when we went for James's 21st birthday treat and since then have planned to return as soon as possible, but I am going to find it really difficult to be away from the pups. I suppose I shall have to start looking for boarding kennels fairly soon but rest assured, only the best will do for MY girls, so there will be plenty of research before deciding where they are going for THEIR mini-break.
Okay, it's nearly eight o'clock, so almost time for the girls' breakfast. I'll go and see to that and will be back later.

Gosh - thanks Chris.
ReplyDeleteHave looked at website.
Have you used them?
Hope all is well with you.
Just for grooming I'm afraid...and we go to a house in Wallsend now which is just the ticket. The HP Hotel is more expensive but I trust the people who also own Bruno's and Mamma Rosa's in Cullercoats. But to be brutally frank, and frankly brutal if you are checking out accommodation in the Big Apple with pillow menus then its the very least those poor soon to be neglected young dogs will deserve. They will certainly need somewhere half decent to cry themselves to sleep at night and fret away their long lonely days. The Hadrian Pet Hotel doesn't do a dog cushion menu but it does provide a complimentary doe-eyed hang dog "why are you leaving us?" smartcard polaroid to take with you on holiday as a reminder...there's no pressure!
ReplyDeleteOooooh God NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
ReplyDeleteFind me a bigger stick to beat myself up with!
ReplyDeleteOr a hair shirt!
Can I recommend, in that case, self-flagellation using an instrument called a "discipline", a cattail whip of knotted cords, as as practised by some members of strict monastic orders, and the lay organization Opus Dei? You must fling this instrument this over your shoulders repeatedly during private prayer to - in your case - St. Francis of Assisi I would imagine. Also I think that by allowing the pups to witness this madness on a daily basis leading up to the holiday, it will surely convince them that you are really, seriously, going to miss them. Don't you think? The practice should be repeated upon your return, of course, for a period of not less than 40 days and nights. Yes I am well thanks and drumming my fingers aimlessly till I have to take young Maggie Mae to the vets, again :o)
ReplyDeleteThere was absolutely no need to tell me this - my back is already a mess of bloodied stripes and wheals.
ReplyDeleteAs for St Francis - where is HE when you need him?
The weight of guilt lies heavy - and we haven't even booked the hotel yet!
