...GOING, GOING KONG!!!
And no, it wasn't a spelling mistake!
I've just spent over an hour searching for the blue kong that I know the pups had this morning. You need to understand the importance of this. The pups have two kongs - one pink, one blue, which we stuff with tasty treats to keep them quiet, especially in a morning when we are rushing around making ourselves look respectable (or even halfway human in my case). They had both had kongs filled with a tiny bit of cheese, biscuit and shredded chicken before Charles left for work, but when I came to put them in the dishwasher, only one could be found!
I have literally looked everywhere - including the most unlikely places, like the fridge, my handbag and even my make up bag (as putting my make up on was what I was doing while they were engaged with their treats). I've turned the house upside down and looked around outside as well - but no sign of it. In the end I sent Charles a text! I know he probably has more important things on his mind, but this was a pretty desperate situation! His reply was that, no he hadn't gone off with it by mistake, but that Lily had been digging in the snow mountain by the gate, so it might be worth looking there. Sure enough, after about five minutes of digging with the garden trowel (because Charles must have gone off with the spade) I discovered the missing kong buried deep in the snow. I can only assume that this was an act of mischief by Lily as it was Rose who had the blue kong this morning and I suspect that Lily decided it would be a jolly jape to play a trick on her!
Anyway - there you go - that was probably the most excitement we're likely to have today. Charles HAS taken my car to work, so we won't be leaving the village. The pups are asleep already, clearly exhausted by the earlier search (cos obviously they had to be my little helpers - although you could have helped a bit MORE Lily!) so I will go and make a cup of coffee (no biscuits!) and will be back later.
