Isn't that what you get in the winter?
I think I'm suffering from it now.
Or it could just be that we watched the end of 'Australia' a few minutes ago and it was a bit of a tear-jerker (sniff, sniff).
Seriously, we have had blizzard conditions this evening. There is an eerie silence in the village as everyone has battoned down the hatches and no one is traveling anywhere. I am TOTALLY fed up with it all now - after all it is coming up for three weeks since we had the first snow before Christmas. It just seems to have gone on forever.
What I would give to be flying off to somewhere hot and sunny! (Oh I forgot, the airports are closed!)
(Equally seriously - if you haven't watched 'Australia' you really must, but make sure you have a box of tissues handy!)

Hi, We're settling back into the world of work, so have been out of touch with the blogg since the New Year - sorry! I can see by your photo's that you've had about twice as much snow in depth as we have had here in Preston. Work ended at 14:30 yesterday for safety reasons, but today was back to a full day, but may be that will change again tomorrow. Pat had the day off today (yipeee - sledging at the local parks....booo - more revision in between), but has been advised to report in again in the morning (ugh!). What will happen tomorrow???? Bye for now, R
ReplyDeleteSAD is very real. My ex suffered for years during the 90s before we became aware of the condition. It can badly affect a family. As for Australia, I've got it lined up to watch. Put off slightly by the title, I have to admit. I can imagine the production team sitting around deciding what to call their new project...wonder how long it lasted? Not as long as the film I'd imagine.
ReplyDelete"Here how about Oz, mate?"
"Nah, let's call it "Down Under"
"Outback!"
"Walkabout?"
"AUSTRALIA!!" .......Meeting goes silent
"I think you might just have something there mate"
Richard - good to have you back! We're pretty fed up with it all now. Had more heavy falls in the night again. Charles has just stumbled to the main road and reckons it's as bad as ever. Most schools are closed of course. Just hope it's cleared up by Saturday when I'm supposed to be having my hair done!!!
ReplyDeleteDannymatt - get it watched! I think 'Walkabout' would have been most appropriate as you will see when you watch it!
"Walkbout" is a wonderful Nicholas Roeg film with Jenny Agutter from 1971, about 2 children stranded in the Outback and forced to cope on their own. However its about about time for a remake and I'm going to suggest Cathy and Andy star in a reality TV version.
ReplyDeleteRather spookily the virtually illegible word verification needed to post this comment was aussicer. Are we being monitored?
Hey - spooky spooks!
