Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

WHERE IS EVERYONE TODAY?

I can't imagine that many people have gone out today - but I may be wrong. Maybe other areas are snow free now and you're all out having a fun time somewhere.
Whatever, you are probably having a lot more fun than WE are at the moment!
Charles is suggesting that we cut Rose's hair to keep it out of her eyes. I'm not sure about this at all and have suggested tying it back until we can get a professional to do it!! He's kind of gathered it all up on the top of her head so it looks a bit like a Mohican now!
Both pups are happily settled on Charles's knee. He's just tried to put them down and Lily has point blank refused to go and has squeezed herself between the arm of the chair and his side and is gazing at him adoringly! Rose, once she realised that she had ben duped into getting down has quickly reinstated herself in her rightful place - literally on the right, just as Lily is always on the left!
They love sitting with Charles and will instantly settle with him. They sit with me a little more reluctantly. I think they are probably of the opinion that I shouldn't be sitting down at all and should be devoting all my time to concocting new and delicious meals for them and that by snuggling up with me they are delaying their dinner! (More probably, they find it easier to sit on Charles's lap/tummy - because there's more room there than on mine - although if I keep eating at the rate I mentioned earlier, I will also soon be able to provide a sort of stomach shelf to accommodate the pair of them!)

  1. I grew a stomach specifically for that purpose. Altruistic as ever. As far as the mop tops are concerned Cathy used to spend hours tying them up with pretty little bows, which is probably as good an idea as any and also a splendid photo opportunity for the blog and posterity.......and it may stop you going stir crazy. The dogs do look like they could do with a clip but I would wait till the spring (around June or July :o))Interim I would take the scissors straight across their fringe and around their eyes. It grows back ever so quickly and if you make a pig's ear of it.....well....as my Grandad used to say a bad haircut only lasts a couple of days.

  2. Right - you have inspired me to give it a try. Charles is going to hold them (well Rose in partcular as she's the worst) and I'm gong to wield the scissors. If it's not too much of a disaster I'll take a photo of the new look!
