... a good morning!
He's been in charge of the pups while I have had a morning off, enjoying a trip to the hairdressers (again.)
Not too much to worry about for Charles then. Except he hadn't reckoned on a) managing to rip the handle off the tumble drier, b) having two pups who wouldn't settle for a minute because they wanted to know where their Mum had gone and c) the fact that our next door neighbours were having their garage roof resealed.
This last factor in itself wouldn't have been too much of a problem EXCEPT for the fact that the bitumen caught fire and the fire service had to be called and there wee clouds of acrid smoke billowing across our garden and the fire engine arrived with it's siren blaring and lots of firefighters started trampling around the front of our house...
With the result that the pups were literally past themselves by the time I returned!
I have to say that when I pulled into Cheviot Lodge my heart skipped a few beats at the sight of the fire engine parked at the end of the drive. Initially I thought it was OUR house! But thankfully, within a few minutes of my return they had packed up and moved away so we could begin the process of calming the girls down.
This hasn't been easy as they have got themselves into such a state, but at the moment they ARE having a little sleep. This is pretty good timing as NUFC are on Sky right now, although I am avoiding it like the plague because it sounds as if we are RUBBISH.
(Oh, better go, the pups are barking at something...)
