Has anyone else felt compelled to look up Andy Williams on You Tube since happy Heart was used as the theme for the Six Nations - or am I the only sad person?
I used to watch his show every week as a kid!

Sadly yes, the Osmonds too. Happy heart is a terrific tune. I taught "Moon river" at school for years, not because of Holly Golightly but because of Andy Williams, that big bear and his milk and cookies...He used to finish his show with something like "May each day of the week be a good one.... may the Lord always watch over.....goodnight everybody". Saw him during the last Jools Holland series too, looking and sounding just fine. I am 52 :o(

ReplyDeleteWell, in all honesty, I'd forgotten the whole show until the other day, but it was actually a really significant part of my childhood. The whole family used to watch - it was actually something my incredibly strict parents approved of! Or maybe my Mum had secret hots for Mr Williams!!
