... for a nice long walk down Villa Lane. Unfortunately the farmer has obviously been shifting a load of very unpleasant mucky stuff and has clearly decided to drop most of it on the road. As you can imagine, the girls took great delight in wallowing in as much of it as they could and ended up coated in black yuk.
So, although we hadn't planned to, we've had to give them both a bath. They were so bad we needed two lots of bath water! Anyway, they are now beautifully groomed and fragrant once again.
I'm starting to feel reconciled to tomorrow's events. I've got the crates ready and will be going armed with my list of questions, which grows longer by the minute. I'm going to ask if it would be possible to trim their fringes and claws as well as doing the nasty bit, because both girls are having difficulty peering through their overgrown hairstyles.
James is on his way up here for pancakes. I've never known a boy who loves pancakes as much as Jim, so we'll no doubt be making a veritable mountain of the things.
