Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER...

... but way back in September I wrote about the saying 'As mad as a box of frogs' and told you the story of the box of frogs that we had in our garden when we'd filled in the pond which all fifteen frogs managed to hop out of causing great consternation all round...
... well I don't think they got very far, cos I've just been outside in the back garden and the noise from the bullfrogs is DEAFENING!
By the way did I tell you about the time I tumble dried a frog? No?
In fact to tell the truth I may well have washed it as well. It was back in the days when we had the washer and drier in the top end of the garage. (This was a real pain, because in the winter the pipes would freeze and the washer would be out of use until the thaw came - and that would burst the pipes and then we'd have a flood...)
Anyway, that's not what I was telling you. It was years ago, and I'd done a load of washing, bunged it all in the drier and was lifting it all out ready to iron, when something hard fell out of the pile onto the kitchen floor. IT WAS A HOT, ROCK HARD, DEAD BUT VERY CLEAN, FROG. I seem to remember a lot of screaming (Don't know why really, but I suppose it was the shock of a dead frog falling out of the washing) and then, once I'd recovered myself, having to throw a glass tumbler over it to stop the mad tomcat that we had in those days from snatching it away and gorging himself on des grenouilles!
Still not as funny as the pork chops that my Mum tumbled dried along with my brothers shirts, but that's another story...
