Dark, grey and damp - not the sort of day I was hoping for as I fully intended to get some serious gardening done today. I had a quick tidy up yesterday, just cutting back dead stuff and getting Charles to lop the buddleia into some sort of shape again. He must think that Spring is definitely on the way because the tree fern was unwrapped after it's winter hibernation and all last years fronds were chopped off. I love watching it during the next few weeks as it's baby fiddleheads start to emerge. It's certainly one of the more dramatic plants in our garden.
So, probably need to change the plan for today as I'm not going out there when it's so miserable, especially as I am still feeling pretty yukky with this bug.
I'm going to need to begin writing a list of helpful hints and tips for Paul the Puppysitter. Actually we'll need to produce two lists - one just about the pups and another for general household stuff as he'll be here for the best part of a week and will need to know how everything works and all the little foibles he may encounter eg Don't stay in the main shower for more than ten minutes because the fuse will blow and sometimes the loo keeps on flushing and you have to do weird things inside the tank to get it to stop - just stuff like that!
So maybe that could be one of my jobs for today!
