Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

TICKETS ARRIVED...

... for Billy Elliot on Broadway! We're going on the Sunday evening, having arrived in NY on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to it, although it'll be interesting to see if it's been Americanised at all. When Charles and I saw it in London during the summer we were amazed at how authentic the dialect was, although the vocabulary WAS pretty strong! Some of the Americans in the audience seemed a bit upset at the strong language, so perhaps it will have been toned down to suit their tastes!
James hasn't seen it yet, so we hope he'll enjoy it as much as we did.
You know, I should be getting REALLY excited about the whole trip, but over it all I have a dreadful feeling of GUILT because I'm leaving my girls for the best part of a week. Oh I know they will be fine with Paul and Annie, but I still think they might be a little bit upset by our absence! Okay - maybe I'm being a bit soft about this. Maybe I'm secretly hoping THEY LOVE ME SO MUCH THAT THEY NEVER WANT TO BE WITHOUT ME! But really I want them to be well balanced little dogs who can cope with a temporary change without getting too anxious. (Unlike ME who is already anxious to the point of feeling physically ill!)

  1. They're bound to fret...until its time for food, walkies and zeds. Just think how much you'll be looking forward to seeing them again and the uncontrolled joy they will express on your return. Just don't get too upset when they go straight past you to Charles and James. Trick is to delay your entrance, as is your prerogative, and they'll be wondering where you are. Simply enter the house last to feel most wanted. And of course if that doesn't work, you're going to feel even worse aren't you? Mmm it's Easter, tell them Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not yours!

Mind you these could simply be the hallucinegenic meanderings of a man who hasn't slept in a week, all hopped up on anti cold medication, darjeeling honey and lemon

  2. Yeah - I could come up the drive in slow-motion, accompanied by a powerful, movie-type soundtrack - and gather the little bundles into my outstretched arms...
... Oh, just to spoil my little fantasy Charles says I've to ask you f you've got a spare ticket for Monday night? Unlikely I would have thought, but I said I would ask.

  3. Not at the moment sorry. Neil is coming back down from Aberdeen Uni for the game and unless he gets snowed in, Andrew gets grounded, or someone is too ill to attend it is unlikely. If there is, then I promise I will get in touch immediately. Charles knows I will.

Monday is going to be "buzzing" I think the yout' of today might say. Although tonight I saw 2 rather good football teams play the kind of footy I remember distantly at St James'
