It's too soon!
I think the last few days are catching up.
By the time we went to bed last night I think we'd only managed an hours sleep during the past thirty six hours - this is not good. The pups took a while to really settle as well last night. They were quite happy and didn't make a fuss, but I was all too aware of them (well it was Lily mostly) moving around in their big crate, so it was about half past midnight by the time we finally settled for the night, then given the fact that we were up for the day at 7.00 for Charles to get ready for work meant that I still feel as though I could do with a few more hours.
Anyway - we're up, Charles has gone off to school and the girls are getting used to being back home again.
In a little while we'll go for a walk down Villa Lane. I'm really pleased that we managed to fit in so much walking while we were away and certainly feel better for it. The walks around Central Park in particular were a real delight - I don't think you really understand how vast it is until you've experienced it. We've spent hours in there and only scratched the surface. The other benefit of walking of course is that it helped to burn up SOME of the extra calories we were all consuming. I very tentatively got on the scales this morning and to my amazement discovered that I hadn't actually put on any weight (cue smug, self satisfied grin!) so was extremely pleased about that!!
