LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

So near yet so far!

Well we're back in our hotel - The Affinia Manhattan!

After waiting around on 'standby' until 30 minutes before the flight to Glasgow was due for take off and clearing passport control and security at the airport and getting right to the departure gate; the flight got cancelled!

The passing on of information by BA was PATHETIC! It was done almost by word of mouth. Nobody took control of the situation quickly enough and when they did - they didn't give everyone ALL of the information they really needed! They even gave out incorrect information regarding where to get our bags back from!

Anyway, we're safely back at our amazing hotel opposite PENN station in the new room that we moved into yesterday, we're up and we're getting ready to watch the City v United match on ESPN2. They're just going through the pre-match build up now!

  1. I admire your crisis management Charles.... the sense of frustration is palpable but you must be getting used to it by now in your line of work.

You'll be pleased to hear then, that the house was woken up early to investigate the rumpus that Lily and Rose wisely alerted us to at Verysilly am even after their late night. It turned out to be a false alarm (probably a cat trying its luck in the cat door) but they weren’t to know that were they and after a quick reassuring pat they snuggled back down to kip. needless to say, Maggie and Isla slept through the whole shebang....as did I apparently

Now, a question was posed earlier in this most learned of blogs as to whether at 9 months the dogs could still be regarded as and called pups. The answer is a resounding yes. They are clearly as daft as their brush-like tails and after a chicken and rice breakfast they were off tear-arsing around the paved garden teasing chasing and generally forcing their elders to play, often much against their will. Such shenanigans cannot be tolerated so early in Maggie and Isla’s morning.

One or two little squirts of excitement on the kitchen floor and a sloppy butt later, it was back to bed till after the Northburn Wanderers 3 v 2 Blyth Spartans game. The pups were just as excited to see us on our return. That’s what I love about dogs...they make me aspire to be the kind of person they think I am.

Anyway, Cathy returned bleary eyed and hungry but quickly cleaned up the offending butt and soiled paw pads where they’d stood in their own ...(I think she may be OCD)...and she continues to entertain them while they have the run of the garden, the refuge and warmth of the conservatory, the cool of the utility room and security of the crate. Not that these confident little beasts need the security mind you; such happy little things they are and very easily pleased....Cathy has a supply of fine spray water jets to keep them cool and amused.
Ah she’s such a good girl....with those big brown puppy eyes – just waiting to find out what she’s after is all.
