Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

Were YOU visitor 10,000?

Sue had two worries when Jim and I got back up to the hotel room after watching Inter Milan shut our Barcelona and make them look, well, ordinary this afternoon.

She's somehow lost a comment from Dannymatt (sob, sob) and she was woried because the webcounter had seemingly been interfered with.

I still haven't managed to track down Dannymatt's comment but I have worked out what happened with the webcounter! You've had over 10,000 visitors Sue! The counter only goes up to 9,999!

Considering Sue only started the blog back in September when the pups first came home to Longfram with us I think 10,000 visitors is a wonderful achievement.

Sue would love it if some of the regular, and for that matter casual, visitors interacted with some of the posts. She knows that there are far more readers than commenters and maybe this will change.

For instance I know that AMA is a regular reader. You know who you are! It's about time you jumped off the fence and joined in! Having a bit of feedback is always good and as you can see, Sue always responds to every poster!

I'm going to have to visit a doctor over here tomorrow because my blood pressure medication has run out. I've been on 'half measure' since Saturday in the hope that we'd have been away from here by now but there you go. More expenditure to eventually reclaim once this mess is all over and we can return to our lives in God's county.

I sure hope BA and HSBC are quick to pay us back as well because the 'black hole' is getting bigger by the day!

If anyone reading this is contemplating a visit to New York then I'd highly recommend you check out hotels in the Affinia group. We're at the Affinia Manhattan. It's an apartment block that has been converted into a hotel and the rooms are amazingly large by New York standards.

Tripadvisor has some very mixed reviews of this hotel but I don't have any complaints about the place.

Life is fairly simple for me. You just treat everyone as someone who matters and as an equal and you treat them the way you'd want to be treated if you were in their shoes. In that way you can't go far wrong. It's served me well over the years. What you give is what you get.

Anyway back to the webcounter...

IF you noticed the webcounter reading 0001 earlier today then YOU were visitor 10,000!

Shout up and maybe we'll bring you something back from New York!

Must tell you a little secret...

Sue bought herself a hat this afternoon. I'll let her explain why later on and I promise that I'll grab a picture of her wearing it as well!

Jim's been a little stir-crazy lately. I think it's withdrawal symptoms. He plays footie at least 3 times a week back at home and is only fully complete with a ball at his feet. I suspect tomorrow will see him buy a ball before we head back uptown to Central Park because it's going to be a fine, fine, fine, sunshiny day!

I'll try to put a New York slideshow together with some suitable backing music to add to the blog as well! Meanwhile; I hope you like these pictures CB!

  2. Right, here I am trying to post a comment but you know ICT is not my greatest strength Charles - I have someone who helps me with all that (well for now at least!!)
Anyway, I have tried to read your blog recently to see if you are keeping well and feeling positive. It must be such a frustrating position to be in but I hope that as I post this you are winging your way home to us!
We are all fine at this end, the weather is lovely and no sign of ash!!
I loved your comments about the way to treat other human beings Charles. I couldn't have put it better myself and explains why we get on so well!
Anyway, I don't really have any puppy related advice as Spencer has me wrapped around his little finger (that can't be right but I don't know what you call an individual pad on a dog's paw!!)
Really, I was just feeling guilty for not posting a comment and I wanted to wish you all a safe journey home! Take care AM xx

  3. Well done AM for cutting through the internetty world wide web thing and putting words on the screen! I'm sure your 'sidekick' would feel equally proud of you!

Our scheduled flight back is STILL Wednesday 28th April - so much for Gordon Brown's pronouncements about prioritising key staff like teachers eh?

Hope you read the 'Northumberland' stance on this unfortunate situation... dock his pay! We have wonderful employers don't we? Hahahahaha!

Anyway, perhaps you could start up a 'Bring Mr Ellis Back Now!' pressure group? You could start by ringing BBC Look North and then set up an online petition to 10 Downing Street.com

Gotta sign off now as Sue is itching to post about our exploits of today in Central Park!
