Now I've done a bit of research, I can see that Guy Ritchie's Sherlock is probably a pretty true reflection of Conan Doyle's character.
'Bohemian' with an 'ego bordering on arrogant' and 'an occasional user of cocaine, morphine and other addictive drugs' - yes that would match the Sherlock in the film. (Although how 'occasional' and 'addictive' work together, I've no idea? Surely if something is addictive, it becomes regular.
Okay, now I'll look at the film in a different light!
