Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

AND THEN THERE WAS LIGHT!

For the first time ever - I've had the window cleaners round!

Our next door neighbour put them on to us - maybe she thinks we (I?) don't do a very good job!

Why haven't I had them in before? For £7.50, they've done all the windows, patio doors and sills in the space of ten minutes and not a smear in sight. Quite literally brilliant!

Actually, say they do four houses in an hour - that's not a bad rate is it?

The pups found it quite fascinating having two strangers peeping through the windows all round the place and although they barked at first, they quickly stopped and watched with fascination.

Anyway - £7.50 well spent I think. And it seems a lot brighter in here!

The pups and I have just got back from their second walk this morning and they have come across a hare for the first time. I don't think they knew quite what to make of it. It appeared on the path in front of us, out of nowhere it seemed, made quick eye-contact with the girls and was off across the fields in a flash. The pups didn't even have time to respond! I don't think they've ever seen anything move so fast.

It reminded me of the time when I worked in Wiltshire and would drive across the Downs to get to school. Hares were often out and about on the road and would actually race alongside the car, which was somewhat disconcerting because they got so close up that I couldn't see where they were and was terrified of hitting them. I never did, but it was unnerving nevertheless.

So - window cleaners and hares all in one morning. Such a richness of life experiences girls!
