Another nice morning - not too hot, but fairly bright - the sort of day the pups really enjoy.
Just listening to Sky Sports. Apparently, not only were our players tired - they were also HOMESICK! Ah well, that explains it all then. No wonder they were in a hurry to get back! Poor things, and there we thought they just couldn't be bothered when all the time they were missing home!
The pups have just had breakfast, which once again they've attacked with gusto. I've taken them off the dried food that they seemed to be getting a bit tired of, and at the moment, they are having those little trays - you know the ones with the Westie on the front - and are loving it. Fortunately, they're on special offer at Morrisons, so I'll stock up while they're so reasonable. It appears that the girls like a bit of variety in their diet, so I shall mix it up a bit in future.
Not sure what we're going to do today. I'm very keen to finish my latest novel a) because I'm really enjoying it and b) because I've got about six new books to choose from next, including a debut novel written by the son of one of Charles's governors. Look out for Dan Smiths 'Dry Season' - I've no idea what it'll be like, so will give you my critique when I've finished it.

An upmarket beach read with a heart of darkness.
