But extremely productive. Lots of cooking/baking ans some decisions made about logos etc.
Apart from a couple of hours when James and Claire came round, I haven't stopped all day. It was so nice to see them, even in the midst of the chaos. We had a good natter and, just as importantly, I got to sit down for a while!!
There'll be more of the same tomorrow. I tried to get all the pastries out of the way today so that I just need to concentrate on cakes now. The 6 inch cake tin I ordered last week still hasn't arrived, so James picked one up for me from Smails in Morpeth. (Claire hates that shop as much as I do! I can't stand the smell or the apparent disorganisation in there. In fact when we sniffed the label from the tin it even smelt like Smail's shop! After the flood two years ago, everyone thought it would be transformed when it reopened, but no, it was exactly the same as before. Those of us with long memories should have realised that this would indeed be the case, because when fire broke out in the store years ago everyone then said they hoped it would have a facelift and a good sort out, but...you've guessed it, no change whatsoever!)
The girls are being little cherubs these days. They sit and watch me when I'm in the kitchen and are overjoyed when I'm able to give them some time. They're extremely forgiving!
