... to get the girls to Shilbottle for their Christmad Coiffure(that's how I typed it - meant Christmas of course, but the 'mad' bit might be quite appropriate!)
Considering the earlier problems on the A1, I think he'll be lucky to make it along the side roads. However, he had strict instructions to ring me when he got there. Well, that was hours ago and after waiting impatiently for a call or text, I ended up ringing him...
... and his mobile rang out loud and clear - from our livingroom!
So, who knows where he is right now?
Hopefully all is okay and while the girls are being pampered he can get to Alnwick to purchase an un-electric heater of some description - just in case, you know.
As for me, I've been making the last of the Christmas orders up today (apart from some last minute cupcakes that I can't do until Wednesday). I've got two chocolate cakes cooling ready to be filled and frosted and am thinking of making a white chocolate gateau to have at home. It's funny - I spend all my time making cakes, but hardly ever eat them myself!!

LOL. And about eating cakes....I always found the smell of baking nauseous from my childhood right through my marriage and now I can't allow it in the house at all, like the cooking of fish. Shocking admission I know but I also retch and get depressed when I smell roasting of beef and lamb. Turns my cast iron and very large stomach. Now there must be a phrase for a baker / confectioner who doesn't eat his or her own fare. Its not exactly what you would call a busman's holiday is it? But you know what I mean. What would it be? Chris mad? You've only just realised?
