After all the build-up and hype, the World Cup isn't coming here after all. I'm not going into all the possible reasons for it ending up in Russia, but I'm sure everyone is devastated and hugely disappointed. And not even getting past the first round - it can't be right.
You'll notice we've got our internet back on again. Still pretty spasmodic though and very frustrating.

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

The English are so arrogant. Fancy thinking that sending Beckham, the PM and its future king over to Switzerland was going to make a scrap of difference. England's dreaming... as is the entire Western world if it thinks it can continue to hog such prestigious events and exclude the rest of the planet. Mind you, I hear Russians still eat their children and the fairly moderate Arabs in Qatar don't even celebrate Christmas...so I wouldn't be queueing for tickets anyway. Maybe our Sky God will be able to get the KO times changed so that the West can watch it at a "civilised" hour and not the silly times they seem to insist upon abroad
