Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

Cakes a go go!

JUST HOPING...

... that Cathy's birthday cake has survived the journey to Blyth! It seems quite strange to have a house devoid of cakes - hopefully it won't be that way for long though.

I've spent the morning designing a new poster advertising celebration cakes, so will be circulating that around the local area shortly. Giving Valentine's Day cakes a plug too.

It's a gorgeous morning - very cold but sunny. I've just realised though, that I'm stuck around the house as I should have some deliveries coming and also as I've got an eye full of Zovirax I won't be driving anywhere for a while. Bit of a pain really.

  1. It then has to survive a day in school with people cooing over it and a further journey from Blyth to Benton. I am so looking forward to seeing it. And thank you my friend, from the heart...it sounds like a work of art. And why? "Because she's worth it!" There may be a possibility of a smaller "Graduation" cake order which would have to travel up to Aberdeen in July (and I hear that there are still blue faced savages that descend from the hills and attack the steam trains that chug up the coast as the snows begin to melt at that time of year) - that's why it would have to be smaller. I thought this might cramp your style so I thought I'd run the idea by you with plenty of time to explore the possibilities. Nice idea I think. University colours, mortar board, cape scroll. Biochemistry master's degree, test tubes, laboratory....I dunno.....Cans of John Smiths, wasters jumping off bridges, an unmade bed (Emmin stylee)Cans of John Smiths, unused pens and pencils, cans of John Smiths, scale model of Aberdeen Uni.....herds of roaming Wilderbeest etc. Just a thought.

For myself in the future I was thinking of something to reflect the things I really love, that you could recreate (yes you may have created a monster rod for your back). The scene from the Godfather with Brando advising Pacino in the garden...."I never wanter this for you Michael" or a scaled down La Teatra alla Scala Milan cake with La Traviata on stage with everyone on stage singing the Brindisi, perhaps? The statue of David? The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel with the "iconic" image of the hand of God giving life to Adam. And of course I would want this masterpiece to be created while you lie on the kitchen bench with the cake suspended above your head... oh dear the cloud of madness has once again descended and shrouded a sensible blog...got to go...mustn't be late...got a date with Botticelli's niece!!
