... I'm more than a little tardy today, my excuse being that Helen and Bill have been here until this evening and, despite that, I've spent most of my time baking very large cakes ready for next weeks cake-a-thon!
The thing about having H and B here, is that they are so much part of the family we never need to entertain them and everyone does there own thing - which makes everything so easy. Mind you, I couldn't have written the blog, even if I'd had the time, because Helen and Charles have spent the day (apart from when we popped out for lunch at the Granby) scouring the internet for gites. We already have the option of using one we stayed in three years ago, but are still checking out other possibilities. What we really need is for our children and their partners to let us know if they will be able to join us for a week or so. Once we know that, we'll be able to make a more informed decision.
Anyway, that's by-the-by really and the more pressing issue is that of sorting these four cakes (five actually, as there are two wedding cakes) and getting some sort of routine going. I think tomorrow, will be spent doing all the sugarpaste for the Cathy's Vogue cake, the allotment cake and the traditional anniversary cake. I've already played around with dresses for Cathy's cake and just know I'm going to have the most fun with this one!!!
