LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

Cakes a go go!

BACK FROM RVI

And even more importantly, back from the club shop, having picked up two more tickets for tomorrow.

As for the eye review - I honestly don't know what to make of it. I don't need to go back for three months and the eye is 'quiet' at present. We saw yet another registrar today and he was all doom and gloom about the prognosis. certainly there will be no improvement to the level of scarring, and presumably therefore to the vision. He said he thought I should see better than I do (which made me think he must be of the opinion that I'm making it up) but once I'd explained that everything I do look at has three outlines to it he seemed to backtrack a bit.

He doesn't think I should be wearing a lens in that eye and this is contradictory to everything I've been told before about how ony a contact lens will give me slightly better vision.

He was reluctant to discuss corneal grafts, although later in the consultation he did say that 30% of patients who have the graft are suffering from the condititon I have! However, he did give me a leaflet about the procedure, so maybe that's something to hang on to, especially as it would appear to have been written for me and my circumstances.

I completely forgot to ask about having an eye test for new specs, so I'm cross with myself as I'll now have to wait until the end of May. He wants me to try using just the one lens in my right eye and thinks that I should be able to drive like this - but I feel so insecure when I try this that I'm not too happy about the prospect. (And neither should other road users be in my opinion!)

He actually seemed to think I was worrying needlessly, but I have to say that it is all damned inconvenient and I DO worry that something may happen to the other eye (the supposedly good one!!) and then where will I be?

  1. It would worry me too. Aren't you supposed to use two eyes for stereoscopic vision in order to drive. What about depth of field? You may end up in the bloody field if you're not careful. Reminds me of the "Keep death off the roads...drive on the pavements" poster in the 70s at the Kard Bar in the old Arcade near the Jewish Mother just off Percy Street. Mind you, you were outstanding in your field weren't you? And Mr Magoo was allowed to drive too come to think of it...just be careful of those wrinklies. You don't get many points for them any road ha ha ha another 70s reference. Death Race
