... when washing out the twelve cup cafetiere, to replace all the components,especially the little round mesh thing that goes on the end of the plunger bit, otherwise, when you have just made a full pot of coffee, you'll find that when you depress the plunger the entire contents spill over the side leaving you with a) nothing to drink and b) an almighty mess of coffee and grounds to clear up.
This in itself is somewhat annoying, but can be more so if a) you've just cleaned all the kitchen surfaces AND the floor, b) you've used the last of the ground coffee and won't get any more till your husband gets home with new supplies and c) a cup of tea really won't do.
Don't try this yourself, just take my word for it.
LILY & ROSE
Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

ReplyDeleteI don't know what will last longer in the memory. The actual game itself or the 'fans' who left at half time...and missed an historical event. A happening. A once in a lifetime "I was there" moment...like the Pistols at the Screen on the Green, The Stones at Altamont, The Stone Roses at Spike Island...England versus...oh I could go on but....you know the scene.

Clearly my decision on Saturday is something I shall have to live with forever.
I blame my parents really. If they hadn't found it endearing that I hid behind the settee during each episode of Dr Who and couldn't get to the end of a Lassie film eithout leaving the room in tears, I might have learned to toughen up and been able to cope with the pressures inflicted on us by our beloved team.
I truly regret my decision and am seriously consideing seeking help via a skilled therapist to enable me to live with the consequences.
Yes, you're absolutely right of course and you've just wiped the smile from my face. Some people get away with bad decisions and chalk them up to experience etc while others take on much more and live every ever so slightly darkened day that follows, in the knowledge that....if only I hadn't said that or done this then maybe...just maybe. Its only rock n roll /footy after all. Most things are far more important.
