Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

OH, SILLY ME!!

Forgot we'd still be here this morning!

Everything's packed up and ready to go. We're just waiting for Helen and Bill to arrive from Yorkshire, but that could be a while yet as they've had their own dogs to sort out - and the horse as well.

You'd think I was going for a week, not just a couple of nights, but I honestly didn't know what to take. I think we're eating out at some Raymond Blanc place tonight - so presumably need to be fairly smart for that. Then we've got the do tomorrow - what do you wear when you're trying to look as if you haven't really aged 34 years? (No one will recognise me anyway, not just because my hair is now at the completely opposite end of the colour spectrum, but mainly due to the fact that when I was a student I used to wear enormous platform soles that were so high I risked breaking an ankle every time I took a step, and now I live in my Uggs, so effectively I'll look as if I've lost about eight inches in height! I suppose I could say I've got osteoporosis, but as my mum really HAS lost eight inches during the last decade, that might be tempting providence. Good Lord if that DOES happen to me, you'll be picking me up and carrying me round in your pocket!)

Oh what the hell - we haven't seen these people for thirty odd years and probably never will again, so it really doesn't matter what they think.

The girls know that something's up this morning. They are wandering around with confused expressions on their little faces and would be saying, "Where are you going Mum? Don't leave us! Please don't go!" if they could talk.
